Building champions one rep at a time since we opened our doors
Look, we're not gonna feed you some polished corporate speech. Quantyra Fortress started because there was a real gap in Vancouver - people wanted serious strength training without all the fluff and fancy equipment that looks cool but doesn't do much.
We built this place for folks who understand that getting strong isn't glamorous. It's sweaty, it's loud, and yeah, sometimes you'll leave with chalk all over your clothes. But that's the point. Real strength takes work, and we're here to guide you through every single rep.
Our facility isn't packed with gimmicks. What you'll find is top-tier barbells, platforms that can handle heavy drops, and coaches who've actually been in the trenches. We've competed, we've failed lifts, we've dealt with injuries and comebacks. That experience matters when you're programming someone's training.
We've prepped athletes for nationals and beyond
Training partners who become lifelong friends
"We don't chase trends. We chase progress. There's a difference."
The journey wasn't always smooth, but it was worth it
Started in a 2000 sq ft warehouse with just six barbells and a dream. We knew Vancouver needed a real strength facility, not another boutique gym. Those first members? They're still with us today.
Moved to our current Granville location - tripled our space. Added dedicated areas for Olympic lifting, powerlifting, and strongman work. Our first athlete qualified for nationals that year. Pretty proud moment, not gonna lie.
Brought on three new coaches, all with competitive backgrounds. Started hosting workshops and seminars. Became a certified training facility for multiple federations. The community was growing faster than we expected.
Over 300 active members, multiple competition teams, and a waiting list for personal training. We've helped people total 500kg+ in powerlifting, coached Olympic lifters to provincial records, and watched everyday folks transform their lives through strength. But we're just getting started.
These aren't just trainers - they're lifters, competitors, and mentors who've been where you are
Head Coach & Olympic Lifting
Competed at nationals for five years before coaching became his main focus. Marcus has a knack for fixing technique issues you didn't even know you had. Pretty intense guy, but he gets results.
Powerlifting Specialist
Still competes actively while coaching. She holds three provincial records and really understands the mental game of heavy lifting. If you're scared of the barbell, Sarah's your person to fix that.
Athletic Performance
Played college football before getting into strength coaching. Works mainly with athletes looking to improve their sport performance. Big on explosive power and proper movement patterns.
Strongman & Conditioning
Competed in amateur strongman for years. She's the one teaching tire flips, carries, and all the fun unconventional stuff. Super encouraging but won't let you quit mid-workout.
Nutrition & Recovery
Not a coach in the traditional sense - Ryan handles all our nutrition consultations. He's actually a registered dietitian who gets that lifters eat differently. No fad diets here, just science-backed nutrition.
Personal Training & Beginners
The most patient coach we've got. Tom works mainly with folks who are new to strength training or coming back after time off. Started his own journey here as a member, actually. Super relatable guy.
